While on location at NRF 2019: Retail’s Big Show in New York City from January 13-15, the SmarterCX team met with Avinash Lele, President of Cybage, who shared with us how their solution, DecisionMines, is empowering better decision-making points for business and for sport – literally!

SmarterCX: I am here today at NRF 2019 with Avi from Cybage. Avi, can you tell us a little bit about yourself and the great things that your company does?

Avinash Lele: DecisionMines is the prescriptive analytics platform that enables superior decision making from an operation efficiency and from the competitive advantage point of view. We have almost 80 decision points from managing your project teams, managing attrition, hiring, compensation, all the way to enhanced consumer and customer journeys, helping chief marketing officers drive their digital charters. We worked with a major cricket team and the platform enabled the team to constitute the optimum team based on win loss history. It also described the compensation that ought to be paid to each player as he came up for auction.

SmarterCX: Did the cricket team do better after they implemented your solution?

Avinash Lele: The answer is yes, but they would have done much better if they had taken all of our recommendations. They think decision making is both art and science. We represented the science part of the decision making and we left the art part to the owners.
